Piece Number 1.

The whole idea of a miniature metal construction set didn't come about all at once. Quite soon after I had a rough idea of what it should be like, I made the first piece. Just to see how it would look.

Piece number 1
It was purely handmade. It's just a bit of stainless steel sheet, marked out with callipers, centre-punched, drilled, and then cut with an angle grinder to avoid warping from shearing. Since then, I didn't just carry this idea in my head, but also in my pocket, and for a very long time indeed. For the next four years, the project essentially lay dormant. I continued to browse old catalogues, researched sheet metal forming, occasionally sketched something, and doubted everything, but I didn't create anything tangible. However, during that time, I amassed so many notes and drawings that the project started moving again under its own weight.
